A Powerful Day
Today, Rosh Chodesh Nissan, is a powerful day. Nissan is the head of the months, and it was on this day that the first mitzvah was given to the Jews while they were still in Egypt - that of Rosh Chodesh. It is even more powerful for women as Rosh Chodesh is a day of reward and recognition specifically for women. A day to be enjoyed and appreciated by Jewish women everywhere. You are, of course, welcome to celebrate with the RCWC affiliate groups. mailchi.mp/669e8cc00191/israel-and-the-rcwc

This year we hope to continue to inspire your candle lighting experience as we connect to each other with love. Read about the coming year’s broadcast: rcwc.org.au/events-blog/#love

These five extraordinarily powerful relevant days provide for us all the tools we need to strengthen ourselves to combat the current wave of open antisemitism with its attack on Israel and Jews everywhere. As it says in Megillat Esther: “Vehayamim Ha’elu Nizkarim Vena’asim” - "These days are remembered and done (celebrated)". When these days are remembered, all the revelations which took place then are repeated every year. We have a unique opportunity as individuals and as a people to draw from this energy and apply it to today.
THURSDAY - Ta’anit Esther - The Fast of Esther - March 21
Esther herself called for this fast for the Jewish people to renew their relationship with Hashem and with each other in unity. We have the support on this day to do the same.
FRIDAY - Erev Shabbat Candle Lighting in Melbourne 7:10pm; in Perth 6:07pm
Our weekly opportunity to bring the light of truth, of goodness, of peace and of healing to the world. In essence, the light of redemption.
SHABBAT - Zachor - Remembering to Eradicate Amalek.
Always on the Shabbat before the most joyous festival Purim. To experience true joy we remember what evil looks like so we can call it out and eradicate it in our times. To fulfil the obligation, listen to the Zachor reading in Shule.
SUNDAY - PURIM - March 24
The Jews were united and honoured through the light of Torah, through their love of each other and because of their pride in who they are. “For the Jews there was light (orah), joy, gladness and honour.” (Esther 8:16). This is the key to victory.
MONDAY - SHUSHAN PURIM - March 25
The battle was fierce and the enemies were numerous so the Jews then needed more time to eradicate the enemies in the walled city of Shushan. Therefore, in Jerusalem, as a walled city, the custom is to keep the festival of Shushan Purim. More time to finish the job with Hashem’s help.
Shabbat Shalom and Happy Purim🙂

Be Happy - How do we Achieve It?
There is nothing quite like the power of joy and happiness and the two Adars serve to help us achieve this joy. What can we ourselves do to continue to cultivate and harness our inner joy so that it lifts our spirits and those around us?
Here are some ideas to get you started on the road to even more joy:
1. Celebrate life with a focus on what you have and not on the lack.
2. Speak pleasantly and cheerfully to others. This will be reflected back to you.
3. Do something special or creative for yourself every single day - listen to beautiful music, meditate, walk in nature
4. Kindness to others brings you even more happiness than the recipient of your goodwill.
We at the RCWC have been feeling increases in happiness as we watch our affiliate base grow. For the first time ever we are blessed with four affiliate groups who will be celebrating Rosh Chodesh, the new month of Nissan with the women of their community using our program.
Bring yourself and others happiness by joining the RCWC. Message us with expressions of interest.
Erev Shabbat candle lighting time in Melbourne this week is 7:21pm; in Perth 6:15pm.
